Privacy Policy

Wheelhouse ("we," "us") operates wheelhousematch.com, a tool that recommends vehicles based on your answers to a short quiz and shows real dealer listings. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

We collect only what's needed to run the quiz, show listings, and (if you create an account) save your results:

• Quiz answers and ZIP code you provide, and the vehicles we match you with. We store this even if you never create an account, so we can understand what people are searching for in aggregate.
• Account information if you sign up: your name, email address, and password. Passwords are salted and hashed before storage; we never store or have access to your plain-text password.
• Saved matches and hearted vehicles/listings tied to your account, including a snapshot (price, dealer, photo, mileage) of any listing you save, since live listings can disappear or change after you save them.
• Push notification subscriptions, if you opt in to price-drop alerts: a browser-issued subscription identifier and encryption keys used only to deliver that notification. This contains no personal information and is deleted if you disable alerts.
• Cookies for your ZIP code and new/used preference (so you don't have to re-enter them), and a signed session cookie if you're logged in. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
• Basic usage analytics via Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights, which are cookie-free and report aggregate traffic and performance data, not individually identifiable behavior.

How we use it

• To run the quiz and show you matched vehicles and live listings.
• To let you create an account, log in, and save/retrieve your matches and favorites.
• To send account-related email (password resets) and, if you don't opt out, an occasional digest about price drops on listings you've saved and reminders about unfinished matches.
• To send a push notification, only if you've explicitly enabled it, when a listing you've saved drops in price.
• To understand aggregate quiz and traffic patterns so we can improve the site.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information. We do use a small number of service providers to run the site:

• Supabase hosts our database (accounts, saved matches, favorites).
• Resend delivers transactional and digest emails on our behalf.
• Auto.dev provides the live vehicle listings feed; your ZIP code may be sent to their API to sort listings by distance.
• Vercel hosts the site and provides analytics.

Wheelhouse also participates in affiliate programs (for example, auto financing and insurance comparison services). If you click an affiliate link and complete a signup or purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Clicking through takes you to that company's own site, governed by their own privacy policy, not ours.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe from digest emails at any time via the link in any email, or from your account page.
• Disable push notifications at any time from your account page or your browser's site settings.
• Delete your account and associated data by contacting us at the address below.
